

Robotic Pipe Cleaning for Challenging Underground Sewer Systems
Municipal wastewater systems require regular maintenance to prevent pipeline blockages, sediment accumulation, and reduced drainage capacity. However, cleaning underground sewer pipelines is often challenging due to confined spaces, limited access, and hazardous working conditions.
A municipal wastewater operator in Mexico required a safer and more efficient solution for cleaning long underground sewer pipelines and deep wet wells. The customer needed a system capable of removing sewage solids and sludge buildup from a 80-meter underground sewer pipeline, as well as cleaning a 10-meter diameter and 10-meter deep cylindrical wet well.
To meet these requirements, Elephant Dredging developed a customized robotic pipe cleaning solution that enables remote operation, underwater cleaning, and long-distance sludge removal without requiring workers to enter hazardous areas.
